BRANAPRESS || Following the recent serious attacks on the Ethiopian Orthodox church, Russia and India sisterly churches showed a great concern.
The Russia Church pop who arrived in Ethiopia in the weekend talked to the churches leaders and discussed the issues that facing the Orthodox Church in the country.
The other sisterly sister church of India also blamed the government for not protecting the Orthodox Church and its followers during the ethnic clashes in the last two years.
Indian church believes the challenges that Ethiopian Orthodox church is facing is a complite political fatigue. “We will take it to the highest concern and discuss with our government on how to halt the disturbing situation the church is facing,” says the letter sent via Indian embassy to Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Orthodox Church have been the major targets for the last couple of years on the political crisis and ethnic clashes.
Several churches has been put on fire and followers were killed. However, the government was passive to protect the church and to respond to request of the Synod.
Orthodox believers in the county are holding a protest marches in many parts of the country as the government ban people in the capital city not to go out for similar protest.
